B.A. in Politics (focus: Int. Relations) & in History (focus: Modern era) at Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn, currently finishing my M.A. in the former. For 15 years also working in the fashion industry. Aside from history & politics I'm interested in bar culture, exciting spirits, architecture and much more. This site is supposed be a small creative & personal outlet for these interests.

Robin David Strippel


Background in Political Science & English Literature, worked in the classic menswear industry and as a writer, with articles published on Parisian Gentleman.

"My passion for bar culture began 10 years ago with a visit to the Curtain Club in Berlin, for Liquid Thoughts I especially explore Specialty Coffee and Cafés, as well as cocktail bars."

Currently working in PR & Communications for a FinTech and trying to map the best coffee places in Europe.

Also worked a LiquidThoughts x White Rabbit guest shift at the White Rabbit in Kraków.

John Froese


Coming from the metalworking industry, now working in the semiconductor industry. His passion for classic bar culture emerged a good 10 years ago after a visit to the "Spirits" bar in Cologne. His interest in classic drinks and all kinds of high-quality spirits was awakened.

"Initially, my main focus was on rum and scotch, but for a few years now I've mainly dedicated myself to American whiskey in the form of bourbon and rye. In 2022 and 2023, I moved behind the bar counter of two bars in Mainz on a part-time basis to be able to live out my passion more extensively.

On Cocktails.Whiskey.Corner I record impressions of bar visits, mixed drinks and tastings, which has now become a living picture album and reference book for me."

Timo Grosser


Martin Cordes

While studying economics, he started his own business early on to pursue his passion for drinking pleasure. As an event bartender and tasting host on the side, he laid the foundation to start his professional career in the spirits industry. Right now working at the famous Rum Depot in Berlin, Germany.

"I'm passionate about the diversity in the enjoyment of spirits, and I'm excited every time I get to share that enthusiasm. Making people aware of high-quality drinks and bringing them fun while doing it, as well as focussing on culture and craft is important to me.

Especially spirits made from sugar cane and agave make my heart beat faster on a regular basis. A small soft spot for vermouth and sparkling wine is also attributed to me by my friends, but in general I am open to almost all spirits that are simply good."
